How stupid can be thought funny

If anyone asked me for advice about what 2-wheeler they should buy, I always said, "TVS. Mileage is great. The perfect middle-class company."
Nevermore. Because they went ahead and okayed one of the worst ads ever:

Chase skirts now. Soon you'll be washing them. Eeeyuck.
This writer's justifiably annoyed in her post, and calls it the "wtf ad". But it's the comments that are shocking. Take a look. And at this too.

Maybe the ad-men (or some strange women) were suffering from testosterone poisoning.

Rohini, if you thought this was bad, get hold of this week's business world and have a look at the second page.

An ad for the same bike, Apache, reads:

Flirt now, before your hormones belong to your wife.

FWIW, it's not a nice bike. It's small and uncomfortable. Reminds me of the Pulsar, "Definitely Male" ad. Much room for misinterpretation there.

all bike companies have similar strategies http://www.thefword.org.uk/blog/2008/04/hondas_woman_tu . blame the stereotyped society, blame the basic instincts, sooner this would swing in other direction cause if you can pay you can buy what suits you best. Ther isn’t any ethics as long as it serves instincts. Companies will start unwrapping guys and start writing sexist slogans against guys as well if girls are there prime customers… it has started in a milder ways like the TVS Scooty add featuring Saddi Manjeet the silly villege girl…
